Shore was recorded between September 2018 and September 2020 during and before quarantine in various locations like Hudson NY, Paris, Los Angeles, Long Island City, and New York City. With the help of recording and production engineer Beatriz Artola, this 55 - minute album features fifteen songs. It was initially inspired by frontman Robin Pecknold's musical heroes such as Arthur Russell, Nina Simone, and more, who celebrated life in the face of death. Robin Pecknold saw'shore' as a place of safety on the edge of uncertainty. This indie - exclusive limited - edition comes as a clear colored double vinyl pressing. It includes a foldout poster and has an etched 4th side. The music label is Anti - 2021.
