Serenity in sound! Another Japanese ambient gem is back on vinyl, courtesy of Empire Of Signs. Hiroshi Yoshimura, a key figure in the 80s Japanese ambient music scene, remains unknown to many outside Japan. His 1982 debut, Music For Nine Post Cards, is a masterpiece recorded on a simple setup of a keyboard and a Fender Rhodes. Through gentle melodies and repetition, the album offers a calm and captivating listening experience, a trademark of Yoshimura's work. Along with Satoshi Ashikawa, Yoshimura aimed to create a new relationship between sound and space. Whether you're new to this sound or a long - time fan of Midori Takada, Ryuichi Sakamoto, Brian Eno, or Erik Satie, this album is a timeless treasure for repeated listens. This 2020 clear vinyl repress features remastered sound from the original tapes, new liner notes by Yoko Yoshimura, Spencer Doran and Maxwell August Croy, and an obi strip. Highly recommended!

To enjoy this vinyl, simply place it on your turntable and gently drop the needle on the record. It's best to play it in a quiet environment to fully appreciate the calm melodies. When handling the vinyl, make sure your hands are clean to avoid leaving fingerprints or dirt on it. Store the vinyl upright in a cool, dry place to prevent warping. After each use, put the record back in its sleeve to protect it from scratches. If there's dust on the vinyl, use a soft brush to gently clean it before playing.
